A New Beginning-expectations and surprises!

First of all,Im making a sincere effort to change what seems to be my 'one blog per semester' policy and hopefully this time around there would be more frequent updates. One of the main reasons why I believe that is possible is because a LOT has changed. It's been only three weeks into the semester but still I would cling on to the previous statement with all my life 'cause life has actually changed or atleast a path has been made for some serious change. But before I write on that three week life -changing -path- making journey it would be unfair not to  mention the two and a half months in God's own country spent in ultimate peace.

Well, for starters, the journey home was a memorable one.The ride to the railway station amidst the hailstorm(no kidding),getting completely drenched in the process and spending the whole journey in the company of friends(it was like half the compartment was ours). The hailstorm was more like heaven opening its gates and letting out all the ice which was supposed to be in the juice stalls of our hall when we needed them ,to survive the horrible, humid heat that had Kharagpur(with its already frust junta) in a turmoil.Atleast this was the case with first years as most of them got a feel of what 'HOT' means.Maybe it even got to a stage when people were thankful for the fact that there aren't any  hot girls here to add to the heat (no offence :P).Damn, deviating from the topic. But do people really care what you do at home.Nevertheless,I have decided to fill you up.

Driving license,Munnar trip and Karaikal trip were the highlights of the holidays. Moreover ,got to meet friends   from all the places I have been to since class 5.Some unforgettable moments like 'the tiger that (never)jumped over the bus' and the 7 course 5 star buffet and the trek of a lifetime and the longest 1km walk of our lives(for
Ebi,Achu and me)and the 'and's just keep on coming but these are the first things that came out of the top of my head.
Meanwhile, there were the crucial results of college life which came out within the first week of holidays.Kaunsa Hall? and CG kya he?The answers-.HJB and x.xx  .The CG once again an ordinary one ,less than expected ,however a significant improvement from the previous semester. And the hall, the last one any fachcha would like to go to beacause of all the history and all the hype associated with other halls. The main judging criteria, however, is ' Tempo'(Life over here revolves around this 5 letter word).

Thus, apprehensive about the new hall and a bit sad about the grades I went back to KGP,wondering if life would ever be the same again,if I would ever get to know what it feels like to be a true KGPian,if terms such as hall tempo,GC,funda would hold any relevance in my coming years.

What followed was the answer to all these questions ...

And 2010 picks up from where 2009 left!!!

Let me start with November which is where I left you all thanks to the end semester exams.Believe me ,you don't want to know my results. One day before the start of exams was my GPL(yeah,my birthday is on 18th november).Let's just say it was a 'memorable' experience. But the week which followed was one to forget. To be frank I had mugged real hard during the last few days and the exams where not that bad either but the result makes it all look irrelevant.
Anyway, onto bigger and better things-The vacations. To describe them in detail would require another post altogether. In short,I got a learner's license, played lot of games, roamed around the city(once with Atul ,he had come to visit),saw a lot of movies, munched on homemade food after a long break, had lot of fun with cousins, most of it revolving around our favourite hangout Oberon Mall and hey,had a great reunion with friends @SAPS(it was great to see everyone again)and although plans of going for Mood -i didnt work ,overall,it was a great Christmas .
Much as I would have loved to stay back for New Year's,I had to return, KGP was calling me.Yeah, sounds all sentimental doesnt it,well it isnt ,the truth is we had registration for the next sem on 30th Dec and I couldnt afford to miss it.So,back to Kharagpur it was, leaving civilisation behind :P.
So New Year's was at KGP.Celebrations were of two kinds-1)alcoholic 2)non-alcoholic.I was still in category 2 and hence spent the night with friends doing tempo shouts('MMM ka tempo high hai'),then dozed off.

So,thats where 2009 leaves us.
Enter 2010 ,and who knows what surprises and disasters it brings with it.
I had this strong desire to go to Calcutta right from the first semester .Though that didnt happen I was really desperate to go this time around and what better occassion than to celebrate the new year.Atul was in for the plan but everyone else was apprehensive. In the end, 8 of us (me,atul, nikhil, abhinav, govind, chappady and vishnu)decided to go  on 2nd Jan.The one day trip we had was awesome(that would still be an understatement).Victoria memorial, science city,South City mall and 'Avatar' were the highlights of the trip.

But like all good things that too had to end and we returned to KGP for the new semester.and as usual 'Time flew'.Spring fest(SF,our cultural fest) and Kshitij(our techno management fest) were the 2 big events everyone was looking forward to.Both events needed volunteers and I decide to join hands with SF and got into its photography team which I believe was the most 'peaceful'(in our lingo it means 'loadless',but then that too is from our lingo, anyway, the meaning's understood) work.I made some great friends, took some 'great' snaps and lots of fun(again an understatement). This was my first time witnessing SF,so my judgement can be a bit biased .Though there were some mishaps like the cancellation of shows by Skid Row and JAL,the organising team managed to get equally enthralling replacements,Kailash Kher and Pritam(whose show on the last night of SF made the crowd go totally wild). The last night of SF was memorable for other unmentionable reasons too:P.

Then came Kshitij, the largest Techno management fest in Asia .The crowd was way beyond expectation
and the events were no less captivating.Though ,I personally found it less entertaining than SF .I know many people, including some friends ,who will disagree.Maybe it was the fact that I didnt participate in any of the events or the post SF mentality. But the 4 days still slipped away fast.I also got to meet two of my friends from school, Ishita and Bunty. They had come for kshitij from their college.

Now,almost 2 weeks after Kshitij,Iam in the same position as I was in the beginning of the sem ,when it comes to studies.Midsem exams start this Friday .Deja vu .The last time I wrote was also a week before ,my exams.Hope the results turn out to be different this time around.
